  27. 1.- ABOUT THE CODEPAGES
  28. =======================

  30. This reduced pack, as opposed to the Full pack, contains an extract of 7
  31. codepages only.
  32.  
  33. Please check the CODEPAGE.TXT to know about the encoding these codepages
  34. should be used for.

  37. 2.- HOW TO INSTALL THE CODEPAGES
  38. ================================
  39.  
  40. FreeDOS DISPLAY, as far as version 0.07, uses these RAW files as  source
  41. of information.
  42.  
  43. Future versions of DISPLAY may not use these versions, please check  the
  44. documentation accompaining your FreeDOS DISPLAY.
  45.  
  46. These codepages should be  loaded  using  provided  MODECON.EXE  in  the
  47. FreeDOS DISPLAY package, but not in general with other MODE programs.
  48.  
  49. MODECON uses them when preparing a codepage.
  50. For example:

  52. MODECON CODEPAGE PREPARE 860 C:\NEW\PACKS\CP860.RAW
  53.  
  54. All 3-digit and 4-digit codepages will have leading zeros on their names
  55. only, in order to make easier for an user to find them on the directory.
  56. They continue to be loaded as usual. So:
